FAQs
Lift Off Therapy Center is located in Wayne, PA within a very short walking distance from the Wayne SEPTA station. There is also ample parking in the large lot behind the building which utilizes self-pay kiosks with rates of 25 cents per half hour. The spacious office can easily accomodate numerous family members whenever needed and there is a dedicated waiting room. Please be advised that Lift Off Therapy Center is located on the top 3rd floor of the building which does not have elevator service, so the office is only accessible for individuals who can comfortably use stairs.
I do not participate in any insurance plans. Please contact your insurance company to determine eligibility for out-of-network reimbursement for mental health services. The practice operates on a "fee for service" basis which means that clients take responsibility for paying the therapist directly, usually at the time of the visit. I can provide necessary documentation to submit for out-of-network insurance reimbursement if applicable.
Treatment sessions may range from 45-60 minutes, but they are usually 50 minutes in duration.
The current rate is $175 per session. Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card.
Yes! Although I incorporate a considerable amount of individual therapy, I do not believe in working with young people "in a vacuum" (i.e., solely one-on-one without significant feedback or involvement of individuals in their family system). An important goal of my work is to help young people change the ways in which they are reacting to their environment, but I also believe that it is equally important to help change the ways in which the environment (i.e., caregivers, teachers, etc.) may be responding to the child or teen. Through therapy, individuals and families can learn to identify and modify dysfunctional feedback loops; reduce reactivity/escalation; increase flexibility; and improve both communication and collaborative problem-solving. Parent management techniques are emphasized to help foster and strengthen positive and adaptive behaviors, in addition to an emphasis on collaboration with teachers/school personnel, etc. given the desire and permission of the family and after securing appropriate consents/releases.
Clients are expected to contact the center within 24 hours of their scheduled session if they need to cancel an appointment. Barring any emergency situations occuring within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment, clients who cancel/miss sessions and do not make contact before the 24-hour window will be charged a fee of $75.00.
As a psychologist, I do not prescribe medications. This can only be done by medical professionals, most ideally psychiatrists who specialize in the treatment of children/adolescents. I welcome collaboration with any prescribers given permission of the family and after securing the necessary consents/releases.
There are a number of 24-hour crisis numbers listed under the "Resources" tab of this website which may be helpful for support and de-escalation. These resources include county-wide mobile crisis intervention services. If a loved one is acutely suicidal or has engaged in self-injury, you should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
